A conference entitled India's energy security - import reduction, sustainability, reduction of CO2 footprint was held on October 8, 2018 at New Delhi. Dr. Anil Kakodkar, former Chairman Atomic Energy Commission was the Guest of Honour. The inaugural address was made by H.E. Dharmendra Pradhan, Union Minister for Petroleum & Natural Gas and Minister of Steel as the Chief Guest.
There were four thematic sessions--universal energy access: goals, achievements, challenges and impact on the economy; energy security in a fast-changing geopolitical scenario; renewable energy: India’s ambitious target of 225 GW of RE capacity; and energy sustainability and efficiency.
The conference saw the participation of about 300 people, including some of the biggest names in the energy sector globally and in India.
